CanJam London 2016 was a resounding success, and it was great being able to show gear as well as being able to highlight certain equipment that may not have been listened to. Meaning, if you weren’t able to listen to certain equipment that I brought, you can read my thoughts on some of the equipment a little later in this impressions post.

US billionaire Warren Buffett likes to note how little advantage his considerable wealth secures him over the average person. . . My experience of listening to the MSB Select setup at CanJam London this weekend just reaffirmed that belief.

Hi-Fi+ Publisher Chris Martens and Hi-Fi+ Editor Alan Sircom attended CanJam London 2016. . .[which] was without a doubt the most expansive personal audio-centric show ever held in the UK.

My first CanJam and [to be honest] I didn’t know what to expect. . . One thing that struck me was the degree of interaction between exhibitors and visitors. . . which made for an interesting experience and one that the audio industry as a whole could learn from.

Being a traditional ‘Hi-Fi’ type, I’ve never been to a dedicated headphone show before, so this was a new experience for me – and an informative one too. The first observation I had was that CanJam [is] a very different type of show to the typical Hi-Fi event. . . Visitors can get round a lot more in the day, simply because everything is so close, and because you can see everything it allows you to pick the display that has a listening station available – no waiting in queues to listen to a system in a crowded room. This all seems to change the dynamic of the show with visitors appearing to be far more relaxed and unhurried. 

2016 London CanJam will see audio specialist Sennheiser and digital audio recording specialist Apogee demonstrating their new bundle that brings together Sennheiser’s HD 650 open, dynamic hi-fi stereo headphones with the Apogee Groove – a high-performance USB DAC and headphone amp.
